Stand Clip Amp
Rotel RB-985 problem -- Please tell me what happen?
It has been working fine until I re-connect my speaker to the amp while the amp is ON. I was replacing TV stand.
When I turn on the amp, all protection light is on for a second and went off starting with Right Surround - Center - Left Surround.
After that only my left speaker make a loud buzzing sound and getting louder when I turn off the amp.
When I turn off the amp the protection LED light up follow with clipping sound starting with Right Surround - Left Surround - Center.
I heard the clipping sound for the Left surround but it LED light didn't come on at all and it took couple second longer for the LED light on the Right Surround to turn off.
Any idea?

Consider the age of the equiptment, is it worth to get it fix. Rotel told me it will cost about $200 to get it fix.

Go through all of your connections to make sure
all connections are not touching each other and
fully in their appropriate receptacles. If the prob-
lem is not resolved, then you must have damaged
the amplifier when connecting the speaker cables
while the amp was on (that's risky anyway), and it
unfortunately will need to be serviced.
