Guitar Solo
How do you a write a cool Guitar Solo for a song?
I've been writing a song, i think it's turned out pretty good 
, but to make it better i want to write a guitar solo. I've been trying the pentatonic scale but im not getting what i want? How do i write a really cool one? Thanks. The key chord is A like you know the lead chord if that helps.
Well it depends what type of guitar solo you want. If it's something like Nirvana's solos or something like Metallica solos. For Nirvana solos (meaning solos that aren't fast and shred-like) you may want to add effects and just repeat some of the notes sung. Listen to Smells Like Teen Spirit and notice how the solo begins out like how the lyrics are sung. For a shred-like solo, you need to use scales. Pentatonic is best. Try to find the roots and center yourself around them, while climbing up and down the scales. Also try effects and squeals.
