Licks Tab Song
Everyday I have the blues key? John Mayer
I was very curious as to what key the song is played in (im still learning all the keys) and as to whether someone can help me with the lick he plays after the i dunno maybe a F7 chord he plays in the main lick. The song is on his Where is the light dvd. I dont want tab sites because ive checked most of them. Its directed to professional guitarists and so forth. Thank you for any help.
An easy and relatively quick way to find the key of a song is to play the song on a CD player (or whatever you want to use) and, in standard E tuning, strum the low E string on your guitar. If it "sounds right" (its in harmony with the song) the song, or at least that section of it, is in the key of E. If the note sounds out of place, play the first fret. Continue strumming up the neck until you hit a note that is in harmony with the song (you'll know it when you hear it). That note is the key.
